With the re-launch of ADG, videos are no longer embedded into pages, making them easier to download.

Most of the older videos are small, divided into 3-5Mb clips and in the .mov format. These clips should be easy to view and download for dial-up users as well as Broadband users.

The more recent movies have much larger file sizes, so it is best to have a Broadband internet connection (Cable Modem/DSL or faster). Broadband is available in most areas in the U.S. and the price is often comparable to dial-up. The benefits are obvious if you like to view and download movies.

Due to popular demand, the newer videos are available in full length files, in three popular formats (.mov, .wmv, .mpg).

Please decide which is your favorite and only download the format you like most. Otherwise you will be using up three times the bandwidth, and thereby possibly negatively impacting the site performance for other users.

.mov (Quicktime)

.mov is the Quicktime format, and comes installed on most Mac computers.

To view Quicktime .mov movies you need to have the free plug-in, available for both PC and Mac users here:

Once you have downloaded the plug-in, follow the instructions for installation, or else check the Help area of you web browser for instructions about how to install plug-ins.

.wmv (Windows Media Viewer)

.wmv is the Windows Media Viewer format, and comes installed on most PC computers.

To view .wmv movies you need to have the free plug-in, available for both PC and Mac users here (the Flip4Mac for Mac users works well):

.mpg (MPEG)

.mpg was among the earliest video standards, and ,mpg movies are playable using a variety of video players (such as the Quicktime Player or the Windows Media Viewer). Use the Help area of your browser/player to ensure your system is configured properly for watching videos in this format.
